Tarantino has been on some what of a rampage trying to assemble the ultimate cast for his next movie Django Unchained. Tarantino has a knack for reviving and making peoples careers, such as John Travolta and Samual L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction. So when the cast wish list was released for Django, the big news was that one time heart throb Kevin Costner was one of the big names on the list.
Unfortunately it now seems that Costner has left the project and wont feature due to “scheduling conflicts”. Apparently Costner has opted to stay loyal to making TV movie The Hatfields & The McCoys for the History Channel. A strange choice and Tarantino must feel the rejection as a bit of a kick in the teeth, as this is almost a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone at Costners stage in his career. Having said that Costner is due to star in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, so maybe his role in that is big enough that it wont allow him to take part in Django.
Costner was rumoured to be playing Ace Woody, one of lead villain’s Calvin Candie’s key crew and now Tarantino will be on the look out for a new Ace, and early rumours are that Danny McBride is the favourite. Bit of a strange one as he is completely different to Costner, but none the less it could be the big break he needs to step out of the “funny man” syndrome he is currently stuck in.
Django Unchained will also feature Leonardo DiCaprio as Calvin Candie a brutal Mississippi plantation owner who kidnaps the wife of Jamie Foxx’s slave-turned-bounty hunter Django, who sets out to rescue her from Candie’s clutches. As well as these two big hitters the cast also boasts Tarantino favorite Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz, who won an Oscar for his last appearance in a Taratino movie Inglorious Bastards.
Django Unchained is due out Christmas time next year.

It would have been really interesting to watch Tarentino revive Costner’s career. Oh well… Let’s see who gets lucky now.
@Raghavi No doubt its going to be awesome regardless who gets the part, as the cast list is already amazing.
